You can make Tax-deductable donations to Portland Books To Prisoners. Monetary donations can be shared with us by coming over during volunteer nights, or by mailing checks to:

Book Drop Boxes

Due to rising Media mail costs, we can only accept books under 4lbs.  Currently we are seeking dictionaries and books on the following subjects:

Trades (auto mechanics, woodworking, etc.), Cultural history (African-American, Latino, etc.), World History, Art, Music, GED Prep, Philosophy, Psychology, and Radical Thought

You can put books & stamps into drop boxes at the following locations:

  • The Red and Black Cafe @ 400 SE 12 Ave (at Oak)
  • Mississippi Records @ 4007 N Mississippi Ave (btw. Mason and Shaver)
  • Laughing Horse Books @ 12 NE 10th Ave. (btw. Couch & Burnside)
  • In Other Words Books @ 8 N. Killingsworth St.
  • Rocco's Pizza @ SW 10th Ave & Oak
  • Blackrose Collective Bookstore @ 4038 N. Mississippi Ave.
Please e-mail us (pdxbookstoprisoners@riseup.net) in advance if you have a large donation you'd like to drop off.  

Supply Donations

Our group is always in need of photocopies, packaging paper, tape and stamps.  If you can make supply donations, please contact us at pdxbookstoprisoners@riseup.net  or just show up at one of the volunteer nights!
